What's shipped: Flash Cards, Ads Mockup, and what's next
Two more tools out the door
Since we launched Hey.Kiwi, we've shipped two more tools on top of FileShare — and they're both live today.
### PDF → Flash Cards
flashcards.hey.kiwi — Upload a PDF of your lecture notes or a textbook chapter and get a printable deck of flash cards (a.k.a. cue cards) in seconds. It's built for Kiwi students cramming for NCEA and uni exams. No account, no cost.
### Ads Mockup
adpreview.hey.kiwi — A tool we built for marketing students who need to show what their ads actually look like. Drop in your creative, pick a placement — Google Search, a social feed, a display banner — and you get a realistic preview you can screenshot for your assignment or portfolio. No design software required.
This one came from a real ask: marketing students at polytechs and universities often have to submit documents showing their ad concepts "in situ," but not everyone has access to Photoshop or a live ad account to generate those visuals. Ads Mockup fills that gap for free.
What's still coming
The shortlist hasn't changed much — we're still working through:
- PDF Converter — PDF ↔ Word ↔ images ↔ plain text, all in-browser
- GST Calculator — for sole traders who just want the number
- Image Compressor — shrink JPEGs and PNGs without uploading them anywhere
- NZ Public Holidays API — a clean JSON feed of every statutory holiday and regional anniversary day
Got a tool you wish existed? Tell us — the roadmap genuinely moves based on what people ask for.
